TOP 25 MEMORABLE CAR DEBUTS: SPECIES PERFECTING

During an afternoon research session meant to determine which vehicles were introduced with the most impact during The Good Car Guy's lifetime, it wasn't thought possible that so many vehicles would be rather recent. Despite a lack of steering feel in most new cars; regardless of the obesity of most new cars; and forgetting the current state of the automotive marketplace, cars of this decade are fairly incredible. A look at late 90s cars like the BMW M3 reveals a vehicle with not much more than half the horsepower of the current M3. Basic new C6 Corvettes are significantly more powerful than the C5 Z06.

It's not much wonder then, is it, that many of the most Memorable Debuts in the last three decades actually come in the last decade? That's not to say every vehicle in this list of 25 cars is still produced in that form. Take a look at the Category Planters, the Classification Waterers, the Genre Benders, and the Genus Offenders for a taste of the other 20. Read below for the five vehicles known in this group as Species Pefecting. That's not to say these cars are without fault. But when taking into account their sub-species and the habitat for which they were designed, these five cars are mighty impressive.
